    Village of Angles-sur-l’Anglin

    Situated on the borders of Poitou, Touraine and Berry, this small village (classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France) with its typical houses and medieval appearance overlooks the river Anglin. No less than 14,000 years of history are engraved in the walls of this charming village. Today, it is still possible to see the ruins of the old medieval castle on the highest point of the village (upper town) and a beautiful panorama. During your walk, you can also pass by the Sainte-Croix chapel, in the lower part of the village. Stroll through the small old paved streets: among them, the Cueille street, linking the upper and lower town.

    Thermal city of La Roche-Posay

    A real paradise for spa visitors, the spa town of La Roche-Posay welcomes no less than 7,500 of them every year, who come to take care of their skin and enjoy the water, which is known to be rich in essential trace elements. This vocation for cures finds its source in the 14th century, when the horse of Count Bertrand Du Guesclin came out cured of his eczema after having plunged into the spring water. Later recognised by medicine for its virtues, this small spa town also houses an original casino with Italian circus decorations, a racecourse and various cultural events. A great way to recharge your batteries!

    Castles of La Guerche and Azay-le-Ferron

    The castle of La Guerche was built in the 15th century. Rich in history, it is a must-see during your trip to Touraine/Poitou. During a guided tour, discover the many rooms of the castle, stroll through the alleys of the 19th century landscaped garden and admire the view of the peaceful Creuse river. In Azay-le-Ferron, discover an imposing historic monument dating from the 15th century and housing a valuable collection of furniture, tapestries and various works of art. Take time to breathe and stroll through its huge park with formal gardens and century-old trees.

    For a fun family outing, visit the Museum of Prehistory! Important collections are on display and retrace no less than 200,000 years of history, around the evolution of Man. Particular attention is paid to the phenomenon for which Touraine is famous from an archaeological point of view: the flints of Grand-Pressigny.

    Cycling paths in Sud Touraine

    42 kilometres of cycling greenway were inaugurated in 2022, to the delight of your cycling or walking holidaymakers. To be discovered between Descartes and Tournon-saint-Pierre, passing through Preuilly-sur-Claise.

    Take the day to discover a 436-hectare reserve with more than 1,300 animals from every continent. Located about 20 minutes away by car, young and old alike will marvel at the wildlife through an educational trail.

    Brenne Regional Nature Park

    For an immersion in a natural and wild environment, escape to the Brenne Regional Natural Park! 3000 ponds and hundreds of breeding and plant species make this park a paradise for naturalists but also for all walkers and hikers who are curious to observe the rich flora and fauna. On foot, by bike or on horseback, it is possible to be guided during discovery visits. If you choose to continue your stay to discover the Bas Berry, consider stopping at Camping La Potinière (Ecueillé), in the Indre.
